Welcome to Cynthia Shaver Asian Art Appraiser Newsletter March 2026,
Happy New Year of the Horse! !!
I have been silent.
In mid December, I fell on my knees and broke my left femur. My leg was wrapped in a cast. For 2 months I stayed in a skilled nursing facility, through Christmas and New Year’s.
My bed was by the sliding glass doors and my view included a patch of blue sky and white clouds, green grassy hills with deer, wild turkeys and a bobcat. Now I’m home with my outstanding view of the Bay and San Francisco. Healing, with the help of Nora and Lai.
This Saturday the 7th, I turn 75. It is time for retirement from the career I have enjoyed for 50 years. I can’t turn the inside light off of Japan, nor the tactical lure of textiles, but my head is occupied by so much else now too. Thank you for your support, it has been much fun.
This is my last newsletter, I don’t have the focus anymore. Please continue to correspond if you can not find help.
My best,
Cynthia
