Welcome to Cynthia Shaver Asian Art Appraiser Newsletter February 2024.

January, I helped three families with estate responsibilities. The IRS has made a ruling that personal property can be inspected virtually with decisions to value made. All three were overwhelmed with familial responsibility and I’m happy I could add support.

I attended a zoom lecture from the Textile Museum on Mosurin Wool Textiles in Japan. The time frame for these textiles was 1920-1940, so very specific information that suited my curiosity just right. Often the thin wool cloths were used for boys kimono or men’s juban or under kimono. I love learning something so very succinct.
